Misa Erder self portraid

Books have been very good to me, whether it was hiding in their world as a young adult (wait a minute, I still do that) or years of working in publishing. I feel honored to be a book jacket designer. In-house and as a freelancer, I have worked for many book publishers including Random House, St. Martin's Press, Harper Collins, Penguin, and Simon and Schuster.
I have an M.F.A. in Fine Arts from The School of Visual Arts in New York, and a B.A. from Bowdoin College. After years of living in New York City, I moved to New England with my loud and rambunctious family, my husband, two kids, a vocal beagle, and two noisy parakeets. Omnivorous in my taste for art, graphic design, and craft, I feel that art can be found anywhere.

The above self-portrait is on the back flap of the knitted book jacket that I made, I hope to have it up on the website soon. Meanwhile, you can see more images of the piece on flickr by clicking here.

I can be found on design:related, and am craftivore on Twitter, Ravelry and Flickr.
